West Coast Area is pleased to offer many bursaries and awards to help our girls and women further their education. We thank all those who have donated or left us funds and helped to sell our cookies. We encourage all eligible members of our area to apply. Application forms are below or ask your District Commissioner or email awardswestcoastarea@gmail.com

West Coast Area Bursaries and Educational Awards for Girls and Guiders

• Bursary for Young Women aged 17 - 24 years
• Bursary for Guiders aged 25 or Older

The Bertha Brandreth Award - This award is for a girl living in the City of Vancouver and aged 13 - 18 who has a Guiding or Educational objective. Click here for the application form.

Beatrice Malkin Performing Arts Award - This award is for a girl registered in a Brownie, Guide, Pathfinder or Ranger Unit in the City of Vancouver (including UBC). Click here for an application form.


Elizabeth Rogers Trust Scholarship - A scholarship is offered to members of West Coast Area Girl Guides through UBC. Visit the UBC webpage for details and UBC's Affiliation application form. Click here. Applicants must be active members of the Girl Guides movement in Vancouver (including UBC), Richmond, or Burnaby and be enrolled in a full program of studies leading to a degree. Academic standing is considered together with interest in Girl Guide activities. Winners are selected by the University in consultation with the West Coast Area Girl Guides Area Council.


The Jennifer Menendez Education Grant - This award is in memory of Jennifer and is given to a member between the ages of 16 - 25 years who is registered in Guiding in Richmond, Ladner or Tsawwassen. Click here for an application form


Elizabeth Rogers Award - This award is offered to West Coast Area girls who are in Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders or Rangers and enrolled in a music program. Click here for an application form.
