Our Area Commissioner selected for Our World Centre in Sangam

Our West Coast Area Commissioner, Belinda Li, has been selected as the Girl Guides Canada- Guides du Canada official nominee to the WAGGGS Leadership Development Project organized by the Europe Region of WAGGGS, to participate in the 2012 Young Women Leading for a Greener Future. The project involves 46 young women from 42 countries across Europe, Africa, the Western Hemisphere and Asia who will undertake national projects prior to coming together in a leadership event which will take place in Pune (India) from March 14–20, 2012.

Congratulations Belinda on this great honour!

This is a super opportunity for at least one Guider from every district to attend a special workshop that will deliver tips, ideas and directions to planning and coordinating a successful district camp. We’re looking forward to having you join us.

Choices will include International Guiding, Arts, Financial Management, Paperwork 101, Bias Awareness, Safer Community,Conflict Management/Effective Communication and GPS- geocashing. Lunch will be provided and the fee is $10.

New Trex Unit Seeks West Coast Area Girls!

Trex is a branch of Girl Guides of Canada with a focus on extra opportunities. West Coast Area has a newly opened unit and is looking for active girls age 14 - 17, seeking outdoor adventure. The unit will run March to October. Adventures may include backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, surfing, snow fun and horseback riding and more!
